The agreement between your business and Expert Roofer Verified, in plain English.

Version 2.0, September 2026

1. Who this agreement is between

  • Us: . We run Expert Roofer Verified.
  • You: the roofing business that joins, and the person who signs up for it.

You join as a business. By ticking the box when you sign up, you agree to these terms, the membership standards and the badge use terms.

2. What you get

Verified

  • a verified profile on expertroofer.co.uk with your checks, reviews, photos and a link to your website
  • the right to use the Expert Roofer Verified badge, under the badge use terms
  • your own QR code and a print pack of badge artwork
  • a place in the verified member directory
  • an Expert Roofer rating built from your independent reviews
  • insurance expiry reminders

Area Partner
Everything in Verified, plus the top spot for your town on expertroofer.co.uk. There is one Area Partner per town or city (section 9).

Membership proves your credentials to homeowners. It does not promise a set number of enquiries or jobs.

3. The set-up fee

  • You pay a one-off set-up fee of the amount shown before you pay when you apply.
  • It pays for your checks and isn't refundable.
  • If something is missing, we tell you what, and you can add it free within 60 days.
  • If you don't pass within those 60 days, your application closes. Applying again means a new set-up fee.

4. Your checks

We check your identity, insurance, reviews and experience as set out in the membership standards. Everything you send us must be true. False information means we refuse your application or remove you later, whenever it comes to light.

5. Your 12-month membership

  • Your membership lasts 12 months, starting the day your profile goes live.
  • It never renews automatically.
  • Before it ends, we re-run your checks and invite you to join for another 12 months.
  • Founding members: the first founding members keep their membership price every time they renew, for as long as they stay members without a break.

6. Paying

Choose one when you join:

Loading prices…

  • The charge for credit: paying monthly costs more more over the year for Verified, and more for Area Partner. That difference is a charge for credit, shown on your agreement and your invoices.
  • When payments are taken:
    • Your first payment is taken the day you go live, using the card you paid your set-up fee with.
    • Monthly payments are taken on the same day each month for 12 months.
    • You authorise us to take these payments from that card.
  • Invoices: we issue a VAT invoice for every payment, available in your portal. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see your full card number.
  • Updating your card: use "Manage billing" in your portal.

The prices and figures agreed on the day you join are saved in your agreement and don't change during your 12 months.

7. Missed payments

  • If a payment fails, we retry it automatically and email you so you can update your card.
  • Your remaining payments are still due.
  • If a payment is still unpaid after the retries, your membership lapses:
    • your profile is replaced with a notice that your membership has lapsed
    • you must stop using the badge
    • the unpaid amount is still owed
  • Pay what's owed and we restore your profile for the rest of your 12 months.

8. Ending membership early

  • If you want to leave: your membership is a 12-month commitment. You can stop using the badge at any time, but monthly payments remain due for the rest of your 12 months, and yearly payments aren't refunded for unused months.
  • If we remove you: we can suspend or remove you under the membership standards. If we remove you for breaking the standards or the badge use terms, your profile comes down, your badge rights end, and payments for the rest of your 12 months remain due.
  • If we end it and you've done nothing wrong (for example, we close the scheme): we cancel any future payments and refund the unused part of any yearly payment.

Where we refund a payment, we issue a VAT credit note.

9. Area Partner

  • One Area Partner per town or city, based on your business postcode (the ONS built-up area it sits in; London is by borough).
  • It covers the town your business is based in, not a county and not a town you choose.
  • Your town is held for 14 days while you complete your checks.
  • Your trading address must be in that town. If it isn't, we'll talk to you before you go live.
  • If your membership lapses or ends, the town can be offered to another roofer.

10. Your profile and content

  • Permission to publish: you let us publish your business name, contact details, logo, photos, services, areas covered and review ratings on expertroofer.co.uk, and use them to promote your profile and the scheme.
  • Your photos: you confirm you own the photos and logo you upload, or have permission to use them.
  • Presentation: we may edit your content for length and layout. We won't change what it means.
  • Keeping it current: keep your details up to date in your portal.

11. Liability

  • Our role: we verify credentials at a point in time. We aren't responsible for your work, your quotes or your contracts with your customers. Contracts for roofing work are strictly between you and your customer.
  • Limit: our total liability to you under this agreement is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • What we can't limit: nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any important change. Price changes never apply partway through your 12 months. The current version is always at this address, with its version number and date.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
